Main Trail Event #6: Lake Norman

Happy Sunday morning Queen City Kayak Bass Fishing. Yesterday we fished the 2023 Queen City Main- Event 6 Lake Norman 2 Presented by Custom Tackle Supply. It was a beautiful day up in Mooresville North Carolina. Cloudy, light breeze, and not extremely hot for a June event. I need to thank @Native Watercraft for supporting everything we do. I need to thank Custom Tackle Supply for supporting the club for the last two seasons. I need to thank Visit Mooresville for wanting us back in the community time and time again. I need to thank you all for continuing to battle it out on the water with QCKBF.

When we hit the water at 5:00am yesterday, we had 94 anglers with $2000 on their mind, and a shot at the valuable 300 AOY points. They had 8 hours to figure out Lake Norman. From first cast to last cast the @tourney x leaderboard was busy. We judged 334 fish yesterday. 48 of the 94 anglers filled limits, and only 5 anglers didn’t score a fish. Plenty of shorts were reported, and only one fish over 20 inches was scored. It definitely was a quantity over quality type of day. When 2:30pm hit and the pizza was being served at The Pit, here is how it finished.

Matthew Carey, our youngest angler in QC, takes home the Aaron’s Baits small bass award with a 5.5 incher. He takes home $215!! Matt also takes over the SMALL BASS OF THE YEAR LEAD!

The Rock Outdoors Team Division goes home with Hicks and Jeremy Heath with 70.75 inches. That 300 points gives them a big boost for the Team TOC.

We paid out 11 anglers yesterday.

The new Lake Norman champ is Landon Smith aka, put a bow on it! He lands 73 inches and takes home $2000!!! Landon has also taken a ridiculous, never seen before lead on the Academy Sports + Outdoors AOY lead! Congrats!

Congrats to all of the winners this weekend! Next up in July we will have the next set of online events and also the 2023 Queen City Main- Event 7 Catawba Clash Presented by Gas House Custom Rods . Lake Norman is not allowed for the next main event so check out the lake list and get ready for a Catawba chain battle!

Thank you Ryan Hulsey for getting the standings posted. Its getting real buddy!

Thank you to our amazing sponsors. Every angler(50 or so) went home with a raffle prize yesterday. We gave out over $1000 in prizes.

If you need anything let me know all! We will not be together in a room again until August 19th. The next two events, the Clash and the 2023 Queen City West- Event 3 Lake Fontana Presented by Dream Catchers Fishing Supply are both virtual weigh ins. Enjoy your summer and talk with you all soon!
